Five Minute Friday: Welcome

It’s time for a quick little writing prompt called Five Minute Friday from the lovely Lisa-Jo Baker. Five Minute Friday is a timed, five minute free-write. No need to worry about grammar, punctuation, or flow. Just thoughts being typed away for five minutes flat with a one-word prompt such as:

Welcome.

GO!

Welcome is the newborn baby, so pink and wrinkled and new.

Welcome feels like coming home after a long workday is through.

Welcome is two open arms extended out to you.

Welcome is the lights left on until you come home too.

Welcome is a dog that runs, and jumps and wags her tail, so happy to see you.

Welcome is a brightly-colored school awaiting children who grow, and learn, and do.

With open hearts, we welcome strangers into our world. They deserve love too.

STOP!

Sorry for the rhyming, folks. It’s just what came out of this old noggin today. Welcome to the inner workings of my mind!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Love the way each line started with the same word .. I think that is a great way to maintain focus (which is a problem I have on a regular basis …) Rhyming lines are fun too!
(Thanks for your nice words on my FMF post!)
